Bio:
Hossein Eidizadeh (b. 1986) is a film critic, writer, and translator based in Iran. He holds BA and Ma in Translation Studies. He started working as a translator and critic in 2006. He has contributed to “Sight & Sound”, “Senses of Cinema”, “Kinoscope”, “Keyframe”, “Indiewire”, “MUBI Notebook” and “Taste of Cinema”. His writings and translations appeared in many Iranian publications such as “Shargh”, “Etemaad”, “Honar va Cinema” (Art and Cinema),  “24”, “Film”, “Tajrobe”, “Mehrname”, “Filmnegar”, “Cinema va Adabiat”, “Donyaye Tassvir” and “Filmkhaneh”.
He has interviewed David Lynch, Peter Greenaway, Maren Ade, Kelly Reichardt, Denis Cote, Peter Tscherkassky, Margarethe von Trotta, Ruben Ostlund, Barbara Sukowa, Michel Gondry, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Jaco Van Dormael, Ignacio Ferrares, Benjamin Renner, and Iranian cineastes Leila Hatami, Shahram Mokri, Majid Barzegar, and Asghar Farhadi. He has translated numerous film scripts into Persian, most recently Leviathan, Boyhood, Amour, There Will be Blood, The Conversation, In the Heat of the Night, Wall-E, The Diving Bell, and the Butterfly, and many more.
Due to his interest in world cinema, he is a common attendee at a number of film festivals, including Gdynia Film Festival, Tbilisi International Film Festival, Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, and Warsaw International Film Festival.
He is an advisor to Fajr International Film Festival, Tehran, Iran, Giornate degli Autori, Venice, Italy, and Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
